My Testimony

From chasing the world to following Jesus.

Here’s my story of how I went from getting arrested 3 times to being a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ. I grew up going to church only a few times a year, if that. My dad wasn’t really around much, and I grew up living with my mom, who would claim to be a Christian but rarely talk about God. I would claim to be a Christian with my mouth, but my lifestyle didn’t match my claim of being a Christian.

When I was in high school, I used to watch prank YouTubers on YouTube. I got inspired by them, and I started to make prank YouTube videos myself. I was chasing money and fame. I had the mindset that I would make it big on YouTube, or I would die trying. YouTube was my number one priority in life. After starting to make these prank YouTube videos, I got kicked out of my moms house the day after my 18th birthday. A family member was threatening to sue me for using our last name on my channel, and I was no longer invited to his family gatherings.

In my videos, I would use filthy language, make people so angry that they attacked me, and really not treat people with love and respect. I cared more about getting good content even if that meant negatively impacting peoples’ days, more than I did about people’s well being. The lifestyle I was living was very sinful. During the time period I was making prank videos and doing all these sinful things, I got arrested 3 times, and I have also payed over $7,000 in legal related costs.

After the third time I got arrested, I was thinking, maybe God allowed this to happen to me so that I would change my ways. I also saw a YouTuber that I watched that quit pranks to follow Jesus, and he explained why pranks are bad from a Biblical perspective. At some point, I realized that the way I was living and the way I was treating people was not what God wanted me to do. Jesus taught to treat people with love, and to live a life that honors God, and that’s not how I had been living. Eventually I came to the decision to completely quit doing prank videos, and follow Jesus.

After I decided to follow Jesus, I wanted to dedicate my life to God, and an area of my life that I wanted to serve God in was in making YouTube videos. God calls Christians to spread the good news of Jesus Christ to people, and to teach them about Jesus. I believe that I can reach the most people possible with God’s message through social media. I also have come to know that there is nothing that is more important than God.

After we die, money won’t come with us, fame won’t come with us, cars won’t come with us. You either accept the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross and join God in paradise for eternity, or you pay the punishment for your own sins in hell for eternity. For me it’s a simple decision what to follow, and I choose to follow God who came down in human form to die for us because He loves us, and to follow Him to being in paradise with Him for eternity.

And since I started following Jesus, I haven’t been arrested anymore, I’ve gotten a house, I now have a wife, a dog, and I’m doing good. There was something that I was missing before. I was missing God from my life. And now that God has saved me, I now have God to be there for me for the rest of my life here on earth, and for the rest of eternity in paradise. I believe that the only reason I get to join God in heaven, is because Jesus Christ paid for all of my sins on the cross.
